CGI Development and Products

It is often the case that when a building a web site useful CGI programs are produced. Occasionally such progams will have general use. When such programs are written they will be made available here so please check back from time-to-time.

An example of a CGI program that currently runs under Windows NT/2000 servers is our calendar (cal.exe) display program. There are two primary displays: full-year mode and single month mode. Click on one of the following options to view the full-year calendar:

Cal.exe may also be accessed as a Server Side Include (SSI) . This allows full integration of the calendar, in either mode, into existing web pages. The Calendar CGI is currently only available for Windows-based servers, but a Unix version will soon be available. In the meantime, the calendar generator is available as a Javascript for those sites unable or unwilling to use Cal.exe. An example of the calendar display, used in single month mode, can be seen on the left.

The calendar CGI program has many configurable features. First, it can be used as a simple command-line Win32 console program that operates similarly to the Unix "cal" command as well as operating as a CGI program. The colors of the calendar's background, text, and current date highlighting can all be changed to be consistent with some particular color scheme. Third, the calendar, as noted above, can be configured to operate either in the context of a server-side include or as a "standalone" CGI program that generates all necessary HTML headers. There is a simple Help facility built into the program to facilitate its use.

Cal.exe is avaliable for sale at $50/copy. For information please email info@ewc-inc.com . More importantly, however, if you require a specialized CGI application, EWC can produce it for you.
